We are so excited to share good news from our families! If you're interested in getting this newsletter via email, please join our mailing list. We currently have more families with needs than Disruptive Hope has funds to give. We want to introduce you to one of them in hopes of returning them to the adoption process. Hannah & Fletcher recently experienced a second disruption when the mom they matched with stopped contact with them immediately after the baby was born. A mom's desire to parent their child is a beautiful thing that should be celebrated, but they also experienced significant financial losses currently prohibiting them from being able to try again to expand their family. We are so thankful for your generosity and look forward to sharing more about their story when they have news to share!
Our Families:
We continue to keep up with Stephanie & Joseph, Jill & Charlie, Brooke & Mathew, Brianna & Tyler, Jessica & Chris, Caryn & Sam, Abby & Josh, Nicole & Eric, and Kaylan & Jon. All of their babies are healthy and thriving! We ask for your continued prayers for 3 more families who are back in the process thanks to your generosity but are awaiting another match. Please keep them in your thoughts as they wait for another opportunity to grow their family.
We have an wonderful update to share from Maggie & Kaleb who welcomed a baby girl Millie in October after several disrupted matches and financial losses totaling over $65K. Please keep them on your heart as they await finalization, when they will legally become her mom and dad.
"Millie is getting so big! It’s been the fastest 4 months of our lives. She loves to smile and is almost rolling over. She has brought so much joy to our lives and we are so thankful for her birth mom giving her the gift of life. We are so thankful of for Disruptive Hope and the financial and emotional support they have provided for us! Without their help our sweet Millie would not be ours today. Disruptive Hope provided us hope in our darkest moments and gave us the courage to keep going. We are so thankful for their continued love and support."
We'd also like to introduce you to someone new! Danielle & Vince met their daughter Emerson in September after 3 disrupted matches. With your help, they were able to recoup some of what they'd lost and had the strength to try again.
"We got our happy ending and it was better than we could have ever imagined. If you would have asked me at the midway point if everything was worth it, I'm not sure what I would have said. After all heartbreak and loss, emotional and financial, I wasn't sure we would ever bring a baby home or if we had the strength to keep going. The day Emmy was born however, I knew the second I held her in my arms that it was all worth it. That we would do it all over again, a thousand times, just to be able to hold her and call her our daughter.
Our journey like so many others was filled with the incredible highs and lows.We had two losses with IVF, one of which was a baby we had to say goodbye to at 18 weeks. We then had 3 disruptions with adoption. Out of those, two of them were after birth where we held them, and one baby we had for 11 days before parents revoked their consent. To this day I'm still not sure how I got out of bed every morning but I'm so glad I did or we never would be here today. During all of these losses, not only did our hearts feel like they were being torn from our bodies, but we also spent over $200K. We unfortunately learned the hard way that not everyone working in adoption groups are good people and we were taken advantage of by some of the people we trusted most.
Without the help of our amazing family, friends, grants, and programs like the Disruptive Hope Fund, we never would of been able to push forward or pay Emmy's adoption fees. We also met so other couples that were either going through adoption or gone through it in the past. Without these lifelong connections that were made, I'm not sure we would of been able to try again after every disruption. Hearing others stories of loss but then seeing their miracles is what gave me hope even on the darkest days. We are so incredibly grateful for everyone whether you are a donor, volunteer, or a shoulder to cry on!"
