We'd like you to meet the 8th family who Disruptive Hope has helped realize their dream to adopt. Abby and Josh welcomed their son Oliver in December after experiencing a disrupted match last summer. We are so excited for them to share their story with you!

To Friends of Disruptive Hope -
We have always talked about wanting to adopt, but we weren’t sure when it would fit into our family story. Josh and I have been married for over 7 years and after several years of infertility treatments and testing we thought maybe we weren’t meant to have kids. But then in summer of 2023 the Lord put adoption back on both of our hearts individually and we began to pursue what that would look like for our family.
Our adoption journey officially started in October of 2023 when we signed on with an adoption consultant. We completed our home study and paperwork over the next 4 months and officially started being presented to moms in February of 2024. We matched 10 days later to a mom due in June. We were overjoyed and could not wait for June to be here. However, two weeks before baby was due, we received the call that mom had decided to parent. We were crushed after months of waiting and preparing it was devastating to get that phone call. On top of that, shortly after we discovered that we would lose a large amount of our funds that had already been spent on mothers medical, mental health, and living expenses. We had already fundraised so much and gotten a loan. We didn’t know if we would be able to financially move forward.
A few weeks later we were slowly starting to look at cases again but also trying to figure out the financial aspect of this second round when our consultant connected us with Disruptive Hope. Hearing they would be able to cover some of our disrupted amount was such a blessing. Two months later we matched with another birth mom and in December we got to meet our son.
Our adoption journey was emotionally and spiritually challenging. But we now have the miracle of our sweet little boy thanks in part to the Disruptive Hope Fund. He is starting to coo and “talk”, smile and is a very chill baby overall. We are honored to get to raise him and call him ours. We are so thankful for the part this organization played in bringing him home.
With Love - Abby & Josh
