Friends & Family -

We’re excited to update you on Disruptive Hope's families, fund, and future. Our Families:

Shortly after our last newsletter, Stephanie and Joseph finalized the adoption of their son Finn! Finalization is a court hearing that completes the adoption process. If you’re wondering what it looks like, here’s a video of their hearing. It’s amazing to see a journey so many years in the making completed with a 4 minute Zoom call! Check out Stephanie’s post explaining how your generosity helped build their family.

“For 14 years out of our 15 year marriage, we have been seeking to grow our family. Today, that is finished. We celebrated with matching shirts, confetti poppers, silly string and a “Finn-ñata” (as the girls called it)! Thank you for all your support through the ups and the downs of our journey. Finn Fierro, we have always loved you and will continue to forever. We promise to point you to God, how to love him and others, all the days of our lives.”

Jill and Charlie’s daughter Lola celebrated her first birthday in June. Check out Jill’s post to learn more about their adoption journey.

"One year ago today we matched with a baby that was going to be born in two days. All day I’ve been replaying the events in my head, hour by hour. It was a day I will never, ever forget. We thank God everyday and are still in disbelief that this little girl is ours. Blakely Grace Louise, you perfectly complete our family. We love you to the moon and back!”

Brianna and Tyler’s son Owen continues to thrive. Tyler’s post shares their story.

"Owen is 8 months old now and took his first flight to visit family and made a stop to Disneyland! He’s our happy, go with the flow boy and we couldn’t love him more! We are forever grateful to Disruptive Hope for bringing us together.”

We also ask for your continued prayers for Brooke and Matt who are awaiting their second match. If you experienced a disrupted match and would like to receive or provide emotional support, our support network is here to help.

Our Fund: Thanks to your generosity in 2023, the Disruptive Hope Fund has delivered:

  • $7,800 in donations

  • +9% returns on our overall fund in the market

  • 1 family with a finalized adoption

  • 1 family funded and awaiting a second match

  • 26 families in the Disruptive Hope Support Network

Our Future:

We’ve had an amazing first summer with Luka, with trips to the pool, golf cart rides, and time with family. He loves tickles, is learning to clap his hands, and is always on the move. A few weeks ago, we were excited to take his first flight to visit his mom, brother, and sister. He looks more like them everyday and we’re so fortunate to have them in our lives. If you’re interested in our family’s experience with an open adoption, please check out Katie's post. Thank you all for your continued love and support!
